Seven Straight Nights for Equal Rights '08
Atticus Circle and Soulforce joined together in September for Seven Straight Nights for Equal Rights, a national event that provides straight Americans with opportunities to do justice and motivates new allies to stand up and be counted for equality.
Seven Straight Nights consisted of a coordinated campaign of actions led by straight allies. This year, the actions took place during the week of September 14th through 20th, 2008.
Actions were led by families, individuals, or groups (like congregations or GSAs), and focused on their personal decision to speak out on behalf of LGBT equality. Depending on the city, Action Leaders either offered thanks for their state's positive policy record or issued a call to action on pertinent issues such as hate crimes, employment discrimination, and marriage equality.

For The Bible Tells Me So - Documentary Featuring Soulforce Now Showing
Winner of the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the Seattle International Film Festival, Dan Karslake's provocative, entertaining documentary, For The Bible Tells Me So, brilliantly reconciles homosexuality and Biblical scripture, and in the process reveals that Church-sanctioned anti-gay bias is based almost solely upon a significant (and often malicious) misinterpretation of the Bible.
Through the experiences of five very normal, very Christian, very American families -- including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopalian Bishop Gene Robinson -- we discover how insightful people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child. Informed by such respected voices as Bishop Desmond Tutu, Harvard's Peter Gomes, Orthodox Rabbi Steve Greenberg, Soulforce's Rev. Dr. Mel White, and Rev. Jimmy Creech, For The Bible Tells Me So offers healing, clarity and understanding to anyone caught in the crosshairs of scripture and sexual identity.
