Martin Yeung chats up the Democratic National Convention

Wednesday, 03 September 2008 10:17

The Democratic National Convention was simultaneously exhilarating and exhausting at the same time.  We usually started our day at 6 AM and didn't get done until midnight.  Caucus meetings, seminars, speeches - all on a diverse universe of topics pertinent to our national interest with the best of the best in their field discussing them...it was non-stop politics 24/7.

Overall, it was a tremendous experience and I enjoyed it immensely.  I am privileged and honored to have been a delegate to such an historic event.  It was also dificult to walk or sit anywhere without some celebrity sighting.  Of all people, the Republican operative Frank Luntz was just a few seats behind me - I had a very brief conversation with him on social topics.  I shook hands with Ed Rendell, Tim Kaine, Dan Rather, and an assortment of high-ranking Congressmen.  I almost got my picture taken with John Oliver from the Daily Show, but he was in a rush and polite about it.

I think the energy and excitement generated by this event will propel us to victory in November.  I wish you all could have been there - it was just amazing and I'll remember it always.
